Find The Needle Release Date (2026): Steam EA Launch
Find The Needle releases on Steam Early Access on November 6, 2026. Here is what is confirmed, what is not, and what to check on launch day.
Find The Needle launches on Steam Early Access on November 6, 2026. The store page lists Windows PC as the platform, Needless Games as both developer and publisher, and single-player as the only official mode. The Steam App ID is 5160800.
That is the short answer. The longer answer is that a store date is not the same as an unlock time, a price, or a feature-complete build. Here is what is confirmed, what is still missing, and what to do on launch day.
Checked against the Steam store page on November 2, 2026. The page was still in “coming soon” state. Valve had not published a specific unlock hour, and Needless Games had not announced a price.

“Coming soon” on Steam means the store page exists and the release date is set, but the purchase button is not active. It does not mean the date is a placeholder. It also does not guarantee a midnight launch.
What time does it unlock?
Valve has not published an unlock hour for this app. Steam releases commonly go live during the day in Valve's Pacific time zone, but the store page does not promise a specific time, and Needless Games has not posted one. Do not plan around a midnight download unless the developer confirms it.
The practical approach is:
- Wishlist the game now so Steam notifies you when the purchase button appears.
- Check the store page on November 6, not a third-party countdown site.
- Treat any “exact unlock time” post without a source as a guess.
If the developer posts a time on Steam news or social media, this page will be updated with it.
What Early Access means for this game
Early Access is not a beta test with a separate sign-up. It is the paid launch build, sold before the game is considered feature-complete. Needless Games says the period is planned to last 6 to 12 months. The store describes the current build as playable from the first shovel to the automated factory, with the 24-needle hunt and the 300+ upgrade tree in place.
The developer also says the full version will add:
- more machines
- more diggers
- bigger late-game projects
- additional balancing and polish
That is a normal Early Access promise, not a content roadmap with dates. There is no published patch calendar, no season pass and no confirmed list of future needles. If a page tells you otherwise, it is guessing.
What you get on day one
Based on the store listing, the launch build includes:
- the six-million-strand haystack concept and the 24-needle collection
- two pile types: Standard (estimated 7–10 hours) and Mountain (estimated 30+ hours)
- hand tools including shovels, buckets, wheelbarrows, pitchforks, vacuums and a metal detector
- automation including conveyor belts, balers, scanners, robotic arms, robots, drones, hay wrappers, paper machines, sorting machines, pipes and power
- production chains for hay pulp, compressed bales, eco bricks, hay paper, pellets, bioplastic and carbon fibre
- delivery orders, blueprints and building parts
- 17 supported languages, including English, German, Polish, French, Spanish, Czech, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, Ukrainian, Arabic and Persian, plus Simplified and Traditional Chinese
The store lists “full audio” for the language set. It does not list Steam Achievements, Steam Workshop or Steam Cloud on the page as of November 2, 2026. Those may be added, but they are not confirmed launch features.
Platforms: PC only, not console
The store page lists Windows only. There is no macOS, Linux, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or mobile version announced. The demo is also Windows-only.
That does not mean the game cannot run on a Steam Deck. It means there is no native Linux build and no Valve “Verified” badge yet. The Steam Deck page covers what Proton compatibility would require and why the game's Vulkan renderer matters.
Should you wait for the full release?
There are two reasonable positions.
Buy at Early Access if: you want the current loop, you are comfortable with balance changes, and you want to influence an indie simulation game while it is being built. The launch build is the full base loop, not a teaser.
Wait if: you need a polished, content-complete game with a fixed price and a finished ending. Early Access means systems can change, saves can break, and the developer's 6–12 month estimate can slip. Waiting costs you nothing except the launch-window experience.
The price is a separate question. The price page tracks the official listing and explains why we will not publish a number before Valve does.
Launch-day checklist
- Wishlist the game now. The notification is more reliable than a countdown.
- Check the store page for the actual price and any launch discount. Do not assume a discount exists.
- Read the system requirements before buying; integrated graphics are explicitly unsupported.
- Try the demo first if you are unsure. It is free and uses a separate app ID.
- Expect a download and a first-run shader compile. Plan for a few minutes before you can play.
- Start on Standard if it is your first run. Mountain is the long commitment.
What could change the date?
A delay is possible for any Early Access game. The store page has a firm date, not a “2026” placeholder, which is a good sign. But Valve does not guarantee a launch until the build passes review and the store button goes live. If the date moves, the store page is the first place it will change.
This page will be updated if that happens. It will also be updated with the unlock time and price once they are published.
